Mostly great experience with Laplink

I ordered the Laplink USB 3.0 Transfer Cable during their spring sale last week, and it arrived pretty quickly, within 3 days. Good product, slow download

I got the PCmover Ultimate Bundle during their holiday sale. The software itself, especially PCmover Professional, did a great job moving my files and programs. Nah, most versions you gotta buy the cable separately. I think only certain bundles include it, like the Ultimate one maybe?

Yeah, check the product description carefully. My PCmover Pro didn't come with one, had to grab a USB 3.0 cable from Amazon. The Laplink specific one works best though, heard some generic ones can be iffy.

I had to return a different Laplink product a while back, and it was pretty painless. Just contacted their support and they handled it. Took a few days for the money to show up.

Yeah, they have a refund policy, I think it's within 30 days or something like that. Always good to double-check their site though. As long as you don't use it on like 10 computers and then ask for a refund, you should be fine.

Is PCmover actually good or should I just stick with Zinstall? Heard some mixed things.

PCmover is legit, Microsoft even recommends it. Zinstall is okay, but I found PCmover handled my weird old programs better.

Honestly, PCmover is solid. I've used it for like three different PC upgrades over the years and it's always worked great. Never tried Zinstall though so can't compare directly.
